George McWhirter
George McWhirter (author page at Amazon
) was born in Belfast,
Northern Ireland, in 1939 and came to Canada in 1966. He translates
from Spanish and has had a long association with Mexican poets José
Emilio Pacheco, Homero Aridjis, and Gabriel Zaid. In 1998 he won
the League of Canadian Poets Canadian Chapbook Prize for Ovid
in Saskatchewan. (2002)
