Franco Loi
Franco Loi (author page at Amazon) has been influential in the revival of dialect poetry since the early 1970s. Loi, who was born in Genoa in 1930 and has been living in Milan since 1937, writes in the Milanese dialect, then translates his poems into standard Italian. His collections, which present both versions, include Stròlegh (1975), Teater (1978), L’Aria (1981), Bach (1986), Liber (1988), L’Angel (1991), Verna (1997), Amur del Temp (1999), and Isman (2002).
